Medusa is one of my favorite characters from Greek Mythology. A lot of people don't realize how sad her story was. They only want her to be the bad guy.
Medusa was born as a nymph and worked as a priestess in Athena's temple. One day Poseidon raped her right there in the temple. Athena was outraged at the treatment of her temple and, since she was not allowed to take out her anger on a fellow god, she punished Medusa by turning her into a gorgon. A gorgon is a type of monster with snakes for hair and a gaze that turns people into stone. Athena later sent the "hero" Perseus to behead her, which he did.
I honestly think that whole story is screwed up. Medusa didn't do anything. She was RAPED, and she got punished. The Greek gods really piss me off sometimes.
Anywho, this was inspired by the song Sahara by Nightwish and the game God of War.
Nice drawing, but I know you're capable of better detail (oh, and her snakes would look a LOT scarier if they were a little longer).
I did a Medusa webpage a long time ago. It's full of her history and also holds some other links that you might find funny or helpful. You can find her here: [link]

Thanks. Yeah, she is lacking in some serious detail. I kind of just drew this randomly one night. I must have been going for the simple look. I do that sometimes. XD Her snakes do need to be longer as well.
Thanks for the link. I'll be sure to check it out. ;D

I didn't know Medusa's story... that's interesting.
You did a great job with proportioning here.
Keep up the good work.

I'm glad you like the proportioning. I was worried it was a tad off. Thanks again!
